Skinny Gossip

Skinny Gossip, the Donald Trump of all pro-skinny sites. Its users tend to speak shit about every single person who has the misfortune of being featured on the site's forums.

So I did some online digging and found a couple quotes:
"When I bought this domain name on a lark, I never thought it would end up here. The idea was to create a gossip site with a snarky counter-view to a culture that glorifies excess consumption."
- Some Changes

The owner and manager of the site does seem to have good (sometimes ish) intentions. As later on this page she states that Skinny Gossip "is a community where we prefer the skinny look, but not at the cost of health. Promotion of self-harm is not tolerated, and in several cases we have suspended or even banned members who did."

The rest of the site seems to be quite positive, but the forums. The forums are a dark place.

The forums tend to rely heavily on thinking the person you're talking about so negatively won't ever see what you've said. The thing is though, models are people who do have access to the Internet and Skinny Gossip isn't exactly an unheard-of website like it used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if Sasha Luss or Hailey Baldwin had found what anonymous people had been saying about them.

The user 'art hoe', a 21 year old woman from the US according to her profile, is just one of the users criticising models.
"This girl is so boring I literally just click on this thread to remind myself what the hell she even looks like because I forget"
- Alexis Ren | Page 4

She received five 'agree's, one 'like' and one 'funny'.

Usually the threads that aren't model-specific aren't as negative:
"At least one of the comments under the article pointed out that thigh gaps are often just down to body structure and not always due to a low weight."
- Designer shames thigh gap through fake jewelry [sic]

Spoke too soon.
"Weird ass fat pride chastity belt thing..."
If the 'like's are anything to go off it wasn't as well-received as 'art hoe's derogatory comment on Alexis Ren.
"To me she is bleh-looking. There is nothing special about her other than her body which should be viewed as standard anyway."
 - Kasia Kroll | Page 1

Here's the thing about what these Skinny Gossip forum women think about the modelling industry from what I've gathered. You have to have the right "look", you can't be too "average", don't dare to ever look short and make sure you don't look like a "cow".

Do I encourage this site? No. It brings far too much bad than good. After all Anonymous don't just Ddos for shits and giggles.
